Womans body on her side in the dark

What is Somatic Coaching?

Somatic coaching focuses on the connection through the body to help people make meaningful changes in their lives. The word “somatic” comes from the Greek word for body and this approach recognizes that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are deeply influenced by our physical experiences, sensations, and the information stored in our body over time.

As a Somatic Coach, I work with you to become more aware of your body’s responses in different situations, to help you see the unseen patterns that drive you, and to build a connection to your body’s natural wisdom. By paying attention to your posture, gaze, speech, breathing, and muscle tension, I gain insight into what’s happening inside you and how it affects your mindset and actions.

This allows you to become more in tune with your body’s signals, you can learn to manage your emotions better, break free from unhelpful patterns, and develop new ways of thinking and behaving. Somatic coaching can sometimes involve exercises to help you connect with your body, like breathing techniques, movement, or guided visualization.

This approach is particularly useful for addressing issues like stress, anxiety, and trauma, but also in growing power as an authentic leader. Somatic work identifies with the whole person, rather than focusing only on thoughts or behaviour. It can support a much greater sense of self-awareness, grow resilience, and build a deeper connection to yourself and the people in your world.

Somatic Coaching and Conscious Leadership

Somatic coaching is a particularly powerful tool for purpose-driven leaders.   With their natural awareness, empathy, and integrity, somatic work can support leaders to build greater resilience through the many pitfalls of career and entrepreneurship and also activate the power of their sensitivity to make their work more impactful.  For example, leaders can grow their inner wisdom, manage stress more effectively, and cultivate a deeper sense of presence and compassion.

A whole-human, unique blended approach

As someone dedicated to facilitating deep, lasting personal change, I’ve made somatic coaching an integral part of my practice. This approach allows me to get to the root of the issues, supporting clients at the very source of their challenges. By understanding and working with the body’s messages and stored responses, we can unlock a much greater level of awareness to access transformational change.

Somatic coaching is the core of my practice, but I’ve developed a unique, holistic approach that blends somatic techniques, energy work, and intuitive guidance. This allows me to support my clients on multiple levels, bringing deeper wisdom and insight to the space.
